Many of those familiar with the natural landscapes across Austria consider the Ötztal Valley to be the most beautiful mountain valley in the whole of the country. Still, the valley remains in many ways a closely guarded secret often only revealed to friends. In the past years, however, the region has become increasingly well-known thanks to the discovery of Ötzi the Iceman and the growing awareness of the stunning mountain scenery.
With so much to do, we at the Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl feel we have a duty to help our guests discover the hidden treasures of the region and make the very most of their holiday without missing out on a single highlight!

As if that wasn’t enough, we have created a very special package with plenty of handy extras only available to guests staying at the Edelweiss & Gurgl. The aim of the Edelweiss & Gurgl Activity Card is simple: to offer the best package around in the Tyrol’s most beautiful valley!
All guests staying at the Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl receive a free EDELWEISS CARD for the duration of their stay, enabling them to access a whole range of activities at no extra cost.
Available to guests of the Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl with the Edelweiss Card:
- five guided hikes per week catering for a range of different ability levels and led by fully-trained hiking guides;
- one guided hike up to the Ramolhaus mountain hut;
- overnight stay at the Ramolhaus mountain hut at 3,006 metres above sea level including half-board (also available individually);
- free use of the Edelweiss & Gurgl Sport and Fitness Programme;
- archery, mountain biking, Nordic walking,
- warm-and-cold Kneipp water therapy, meditation, stretching,
- special exercises to prevent age-related muscle deterioration from the age of 35. - free use of the Edelweiss & Gurgl Kids’ Programme;
- available every day from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm, Sunday to Friday (six days a week),
- archery, horse riding taster-courses, visits to real working farms, diving in the outdoor pool, nature hikes, marmot safaris, painting, face-painting, handicrafts, games, dancing and plenty more! - free use of the 1,200 m2 Glacier Spa beauty and relaxation area;
- guests will find a Spa and Beauty Basket in their rooms complete with flip-flops, towels and bath robes.
