Motorcycle Tours

Riding on Alpine freedom trails!

Take your motorcycle up the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Pass Road!

The Timmelsjoch High Alpine Pass Road truly deserves its name as the most beautiful scenic drive in the Alps. It winds along awe-inspiring glacier landscapes and leads directly to the Mediterranean climes of the vineyards in the Passaier Valley in South Tyrol.

The asphalt road to the Timmelsjoch Pass at 2,509 meters winds effortlessly up the mountain, leaving s-curves in the rocky landscape. Motorcycle fans will find the serpentines especially fascinating. Set out on an adventure to the “secret gap” in the Alps and just let your wheels roll!

Panorama tour between mountains and countries

Once you leave the straight autobahn at Oetztal/Haiming and veer off towards Längenfeld and Sölden, you will experience nature at its most beautiful. The panorama road starts its ascent of 12 kilometers shortly before Obergurgl on the Northern ramp. Drivers can expect an 11 percent incline, a 6-meter wide road, optimum road safety features, and various viewpoints with incredible vistas. The road passes by Hochgurgl, the highest town in the Eastern Alps that is inhabited year round. In its further course, it runs by slopes with ancient stone pines that have weathered many storms.  Take time out to have a look at the end of the valley and the glacier town Obergurgl with the Ramolkogel summit group as a backdrop.

The road leads further through the Timmelstal Valley down to the Timmels Brook where the high valley and its lush pastures narrow abruptly. Finally the ascent to the peak starts. The Timmelsjoch Pass separates the Stubaier from the Oetz Valley Alps on the Alpenhauptkamm range, which constitutes the border between North and South Tyrol. At this altitude, a spectacular panorama of peaks and valleys becomes visible again. While rough winds sometimes blow during the ascent to the highest point, the descent on the other side leads directly to the Italian town of Merano and its warmer climes.

The Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road is open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. from early June to mid-October.
