Oetzi Village

The entire family steps back in time and sees how people in the Young Stone Age lived, worked, and built their homes!

Oetzi Village is an archeological open-air museum. The remains of Oetzi, the Iceman from 6,000 years ago, have made the Oetz Valley world-famous. As the name Oetzi suggests, this mummy is irrevocably linked to the valley and its mountains. The museum features authentically rebuilt huts, tools, weapons, and animals bred by the early inhabitants of the valley. Knowledgeable guides will take visitors on a tour of the museum.

Highlights:

  • easy access from the parking lot
  • handicap access to the museum
  • informational showroom with film screenings
  • several free guided tours a day or audioguide
  • weekly demonstrations of early tools
