Ramol Hut
Mountain Hut in the Oetz Valley
The Ramol Hut is located at an altitude of 3,006 meters. It was built by Martin Scheiber, the great-grandfather of the current owners of the Edelweiss & Gurgl Hotel in Obergurgl. This rustic mountain hut can accommodate a maximum of 66 people. From the Ramol Hut you can go on numerous hikes and mountain tours. The most popular hikes, high-mountain tours and glacier crossings lead to the Ramolkogel peak, to the Firmisanschneide or to the Schalflkogel peak. The Ramol hut accommodates day-time visitors as well as hikers who want to stay for several nights.

Once visitors see the Ramol Hut’s unique location, they will want to hike most of the trails surrounding it. The Ramol Hut affords an awe-inspiring view of the Gurgl Glacier basin and the surrounding Oetz Valley peaks.
Guests at the Edelweiss & Gurgl Hotel can reach the Ramol Hut on trails from Obergurgl in four hours. From there, they can hike further into the surrounding countryside. In addition, the Edelweiss & Gurgl Hotel offers guided mountain tours. A trained mountain guide will help you customize your hike to your specific needs. The Oetz Valley mountains have trails for hikers of all ability levels. Our guides will inform you about easy hikes to mountain pastures and cabins for families, and more demanding glacier crossings for mountaineers. Hiking packages with an overnight stay at the Ramol Hut are especially popular with our guests. You may book these packages from the end of July to the end of September when the hut is open for business.
