Artificial snow in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl
90 percent of the slopes in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl can be covered with snow up to an altitude of 3,000 meters. That’s why the region has made a name for itself as the one with the “highest snow guarantee“ in the Alps. Snow is produced with the help of a computer-controlled program. Canons start to shoot out snow at the appropriate temperature and humidity. Five weather stations in the area supply detailed information for this process to function properly.
