Since 1889
As old as the Eiffel Tower
The Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl was built in the same year as the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris. However, while the French capital's most famous sight has remained the same with the exception of an evening light show, here at the Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl we have always moved with the times.
In 2019 our hotel celebrated its 135th anniversary and is today able to look back on many major achievements and developments which fill us with happiness and pride.

Complete facelift in winter 2020
The Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl has always guaranteed guests remarkable moments with friends and family. In winter 2020 we gave our hotel a complete facelift in order to make our facilities state of the art and to give certain areas a fresh look.
Now, after months of intensive work, we are proud to present the result.

For 130 years our hotel has been synonymous with excellent service. We take pride in listening to our guests, meeting their specific needs and thus enabling remarkable moments in the heart of the Austrian Alps. From our hotel there are just 15 steps to the ski piste.
Enjoy the fantastic summer landscape of the Ötztal or the varied pistes of the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area and get away from it all as you let your eyes wander from one peak to the next. Transformation in 2020
In winter 2020 our building underwent a complete facelift to bring it up to date with the latest standards. Work has been carried out on both the outside and the inside of the hotel. The result? Luxurious rooms & suites with state-of-the-art facilties, a redesigned spa area with an exclusive fitness club, and a new lobby & bar area inviting guests to sit down, relax and enjoy a drink.
This new look for 2020 embodies our philosophy: dedication, hard work and attention to detail in a quest to offer our guests simply the best holiday anywhere in the Alps.

In winter 2020 our four-star superior hotel received a facelift. The outside of the building was completely renovated and the interior has also received a new look – after all, it's the inner values that count. Many of our rooms & suites have been redesigned and re-furnished to bring them up to the latest standard.

Located at the end of the Ötztal Valley, Obergurgl is surrounded by mighty mountains creating a natural amphitheatre of snow-capped peaks. With such spectacular scenery all around, it will come as little surprise that our rooms & suites all have large windows offering truly breathtaking views of the Austrian Alps. However, there is more to a memorable holiday than just amazing panoramas and cosy accommodation.
Here at the Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl we are famous for our service. The experience begins even before you have arrived with the option of a pick-up and transfer service from one of the nearby airports to the hotel. Special requirements and requests can be added when booking your stay.
The hotel itself is located next to the ski slopes and close to the centre of the village, where guests will find everything they need for an enjoyable winter holiday. In summer, you can take the nearby Rosskarbahn cable car directly to the hiking area. The day begins with a hearty breakfast buffet and concludes in the evening with a sumptuous dinner followed by a drink at the bar.
