Our creative team of chefs looks forward to taking you on a culinary journey of discovery full of delicious highlights. We use seasonal produce sourced from the region in our à-la-carte restaurant. Enjoy luxury half-board or, alternatively, try something a little different with a fondue evening or a meal in the mountains at the Zirbenalm

Voucher for restaurant or fondue

Guests who wish to dine in our à la carte restaurant or enjoy a cheesy fondue can cancel their half-board and receive a €20 voucher in exchange. If possible, please let us know one day in advance or, at the latest, after breakfast on the same day.

Meet the head chef

The E&G cooking philosophy

Head chef Christian Weis is a "traditional chef" in the true sense of the word. That means he has an appreciation of Austrian classics and regional delicacies but at the same time is always on the lookout for new trends which can be integrated into the hotel's cooking concept.

Christian's philosophy combines fresh, seasonal produce with creative cooking techniques aimed at preserving the nutrients and goodness we are blessed with here in the Ötztal Valley. "I love steak, for example," he says. "There are lots of fancy methods of preparing it these days, but if the meat is of the highest quality then there is no need to over-complicate things."

Start the day the right way with a healthy and hearty breakfast buffet designed to give you all the energy you need for an action-packed day. We use seasonal local produce sourced from the region to ensure the very best quality all year round. Breakfast highlights include:

Dinner comes in the form of a five-course meal plus a salad buffet and cheese board.

Here at the Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl, we know how important good food is for an enjoyable holiday. Guests staying with us can look forward to everything from traditional Tyrolean dishes to international favourites. Our à la carte restaurant here at 1,930 metres above sea level offers haute cuisine in the true sense of the word, including vegetarian options and sweet treats.

There is nothing more traditional than a fondue in our own fondue room decorated with natural wood and boasting an amazing glass roof. 

After dinner, why not withdraw to the bar & lounge for a glass of wine or a cup of coffee as you gaze out at the mountains which surround our hotel?


Mountain hut next to the pistes

The Zirbenalm is a mountain hut located next to the ski slopes within the resort of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl. It is run by the E&G and offers hearty food and plenty of après-ski fun.

Stop off, clip out and get the party started as a long day of skiing slowly draws to a close.
