One building – three attractions! With a toll station, a restaurant and a motorcycle museum, the Top Mountain Crosspoint at the foot of the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road in Hochgurgl is a great destination for visitors of all ages.
After many years of planning and building, the most ambitious infrastructure project in the Ötztal Valley has finally been completed. Welcome to the Top Mountain Crosspoint! This state-of-the-art construction covering 6,000m² is the latest architectural highlight next to the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road in Hochgurgl.
With its sweeping lines and natural wood facade, the Top Mountain Crosspoint blends in perfectly with the surrounding mountain landscape. It is home to three attractions: a toll station, a first-class restaurant and Europe's highest motorcycle museum.
Unique landscapes, breathtaking panoramic views and a huge diversity of plants and flowers make the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road a very popular destination in the Ötztal Valley.
Now there is another great reason to the region's highest border crossing: the Top Mountain Crosspoint, a three-in-one building housing a toll station, restaurant and motorcycle museum.
After exploring the fascinating toll station with its rich history and admiring the shining motorcycles on display in Europe's highest specialist motorbike museum, why not pop into the new Top Mountain Restaurant serving fine antipasti from Italy, stone-baked pizza and organic steaks accompanied by a carefully chosen selection of wines? The restaurant has a large terrace with panoramic views of the Ötztal Alps, while inside the wooden décor ensures a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Even guests who aren't passionate about motorbikes will definitely enjoy visiting the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum. Located in the heart of the Ötztal Alps, it houses 170 valuable exhibits in a purpose build exhibition space. And the best thing of all is that the museum stands just a few metres from the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road, known among motorcycle enthusiasts as one of the best roads in the Alps.
Motoguzzi, BMQ, Sunbeam, Indian and Harly Davidson are just a few of the famous manufacturers to be found in the 2,600m² exhibition, which also features a number of classic cars. The museum, which is the highest motorbike museum in Europe, was opened in 2016.
