A rich beef consommé, meat sourced from the local region and a selection of delicious side dishes – at the Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl you can enjoy a fondue evening you will never forget.

Each table in our modern fondue room has its own overhead extractor fan designed to eliminate fatty odours quicky and efficiently, while the solid wood floors and dark wallpaper make for a warm, cosy atmosphere.

The main highlight is in the middle of the room, directly above the open fireplace: a glass dome providing stunning views of the starry night sky. Nowhere else than at the Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl can you enjoy delicious food while counting the stars in the night sky over Obergurgl!

A special experience for two or with friends and family

With a „pre order“ a day before, we would like to present you our Edelweiss & Gurgl Fondue’s. Self-cooked either in a hearty broth or in the traditional sunflower oil, we are selecting and preparing daily meat products mostly from the own farms. As well the traditional cheese Fondue in cooperation with local producers. With lots of different sauces, vegetables and side dishes, you can look forward to a memorable evening.

  • The traditional Fondue: Beef tenderloin, pork filet, chicken breast and sausages can be self-cooked either in a hearty broth or in sunflower oil. 8 different sauces, oven baked potatoes, vegetables, garlic bread, French fries and a bowl of healthy mixed greens will make your Fondue dinner experience a special one.
  • Vegetarian soup fondue: For our vegetarian Fondue, we prepare a flavorful vegetable broth with local mountain herbs. With Savoy cabbage, mushrooms, broccoli, green asparagus, spring onions and all specialties what we could find in our gardens, we are sure that every vegetarian heard will shine happily. The different sauces, dip’s and vinaigrettes in combination with the side dishes such as garlic bread, French fries or baked potatoes will fulfill your „green“ expectations.
  • Obergurgler cheese Fondue: Refined with specialties from our local Alpine dairy producers we serve the cheese fondue with classic baguette and the Tyrolean „Vinschgerl“, which is a flavorful whole wheat-rye bread. As an upgrade to the traditional cheese Fondue, we serve besides the potatoes and pickled vegetable as well some mushrooms, prunes, bacon, and fresh fruits.
