Galloping through the Tyrolean alpine countryside in summer under a bright blue sky with a view of the Ötztal glaciers – this is a scene that makes every rider’s heart beat faster. Only a stone’s throw away from the hotel is our unique Edelweiss & Gurgl indoor riding arena in Obergurgl, where 17 of our home bred Haflingers trot around. Whether beginner or advanced rider, everyone is welcome here. It makes no difference to our good natured Haflingers, they are on first name terms with all of our guests.

Cycling and biking in Obergurgl-Hochgurgl
A top location right on the doorstep, the Timmelsjoch, one of the best known racing bike mountain passes, and numerous diverse bike routes with amazing scenery: a real bikers paradise is available to all cyclists when on an active summer holiday in the Ötz valley. A good tip is the Ötztal bike route, 50 km long stretching through the whole valley – beginning in Haiming at 670 m above sea level and finishing in Sölden at 1377 m above sea level.

Ötztal has plenty to offer climbers
Here, every climbing enthusiast will find his or her place to let go – whether beginner, via ferrata enthusiast or the advanced climber. We have no shortage of options here. The “Zirbenwald” via ferrata and climbing garden are ideal for families. The panoramic route “Schwärzenkamm" takes you to a higher altitude and requires courage as well as skill. Other exciting routes and climbing gardens can be found in Sölden and lower down the valley.
